The Nelson Mandela Bay Food Festival

The Nelson Mandela Bay Food Festival is proud to announce that we will be hosting a Food, Cheese and Wine festival which will take place between the 29th of March and the 1st of April 2012 at the DF Malherbe School grounds in Walmer Park, Port Elizabeth.
We have 350 (stalls) exhibition spaces which may range from Wine, food, cheese but also unique arts and crafts. Exhibition space will be inside 5 giant tents spread over the school grounds. We are working with the Nelson Mandela Bay metro and Tourism board to attract 40 000 people to this festival over the 4 days. We are inviting all businesses that operate in the following categories to join in the festival to market and sell their products:

• Wine makers
• Cheese manufacturers
• Food stalls
• Arts and Craft
• International and exotic foods
• Home industries
• Suppliers of specialized services and products
The Festival caters for the whole family and the highlights include:
• Live entertainment by popular local artists
• Radio Algoa live broadcast from festival grounds
• Kidzone, funfair and go-carts
• An in-house festival radio station will keep festival goers informed about all activities and programs
• Food demonstrations by celebrity chefs
• Potjiekos Competitions
• Wine tasting will take place throughout the festival
• Wine and Cheese, Whiskey and Cheese and Chocolate and Brandy paring presented by industry specialists.
• Outdoor braai’s throughout the festival grounds and concluding with the famous Lamb Spitbraai on Sunday
We are in the process of launching a massive marketing campaign in order to ensure the success of this festival and we plan to make it one of the premier annual events on the Nelson Mandela Bay calendar.
We are working in partnership with and have secured the full backing of Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and Tourism board. Our marketing campaign includes advertisements through the following media:
• Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism website (see it here www.nmbt.co.za) halfway down the front page
• Radio Algoa and Bay FM
• Billboards and lap post banners throughout Port Elizabeth
• Electronic and Social media
• National Press
